With the Microsoft Dynamics 365 On premise release just around the corner, MS has published the system requirements for D365 for Finance and Operations for Enterprise edition. The document also includes the overview of system architecture and data storage. Below are some of the highlights.

System Architecture

  • SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Environment Orchestrator
The only new term in the above components is ‘Environment Orchestrator’ which enables on-premises environment management for LCS (Lifecycle services).

Application Lifecycle Management for On-premises Deployments

Factors that affect sizing

Some important points:

Deployments where the AOS and the SQL Server Database are in different data centers are not supported. The AOS and the SQL Server database need to be co-located.
Retail Server is not supported in on-premises deployments at this time.
